(b) Close the right thrust reverser (PAGEBLOCK 78-31-00/201).
(c) Close the right core cowl panel (PAGEBLOCK 71-11-06/201).
(d) Do the activation procedure for the thrust reverser (PAGEBLOCK 78-31-00/201).
(e) Close the fan cowl panels (PAGEBLOCK 71-11-04/201).
G. Borescope Inspection of the Combustion Section

(1) Turn the N2 rotor at the accessory gearbox (PAGEBLOCK 72-00-00/201).
NOTE: It is recommended that you turn the N2 rotor, then stop to do the inspection. Then, turn
the N2 rotor, and stop again to do the next inspection.

(2) If it is necessary, do the steps that follow to prepare for the borescope inspection:
WARNING
DO THE THRUST REVERSER DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO
PREVENT THE OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. THE
ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE
INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a) Do this procedure: Thrust Reverser Deactivation for Ground Maintenance
(PAGEBLOCK 78-31-00/201).
(b) Open the fan cowl panels (PAGEBLOCK 71-11-04/201).
(c) Open the core cowl panels (PAGEBLOCK 71-11-06/201).

CAUTION
PUT A LABEL ON THE BORESCOPE PLUGS. ENGINE DAMAGE CAN OCCUR
IF THE BORESCOPE PLUGS ARE NOT INSTALLED IN THE CORRECT
LOCATION.
(3) Remove the borescope plugs B2-1 through B2-5 (Figure 601).
(a) Put labels on the borescope plugs that you removed.

(4) Remove the ECS duct to get access to borescope plug B2-6 (Figure 601).
(a) Remove the borescope plug B2-6.
(b) Put a label on the borescope plug.

(5) Use the borescope to examine all the surfaces of the combustion section for the conditions
that follow (Figure 607):
