(3) Do the steps that follow the install bracket [11], insulation blanket [2], aft No. 6 bearing cover
[3], oil slinger [5], seal tube ring [6], flame arrestor [7], and No. 6 bearing plug [13] (Figure 401
or Figure 402 or Figure 403).
(a) Attach preformed packing [14] and No. 6 bearing plug [13] to assembly duct.
(b) Attach the oil slinger [5], seal tube ring [6] and flame arrestor [7] on the studs of the No. 6
bearing spanner nut.
(c) Apply anti-seize compound, D50067 [C02-001] to the threads and washer faces of the
seven nuts [15].
(d) Connect the oil slinger [5], seal tube ring [6], and flame arrestor [7] with the seven nuts
[15].
1) Torque the nuts to 33-37 pound-inches (3.7-4.2 newton-meters).
a) Clean off all unwanted lubricant.
(e) Apply lubricant, D60130 [V10-041] to a new preformed packing [4].
(f) Apply lubricant, D60130 [V10-041] to the mating surfaces of the No. 6 bearing cover [3]
and sump housing.
1) Install the preformed packing [4] in the groove of the No. 6 bearing cover [3].
(g) Apply anti-seize compound, D50067 [C02-001] to the sump housing stud threads.
WARNING
DO NOT TOUCH INSULATION BLANKETS WITHOUT GLOVES OR
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT. THE INSULATION BLANKETS CAN CONTAIN
CERAMIC FIBERS THAT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR SKIN, EYES,
AND LUNGS. IF YOU DO NOT USE SKIN, EYE, AND LUNG
PROTECTION, YOU CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONNEL.
(h) Install the aft No. 6 bearing cover [3], insulation blanket [2], and bracket [11] to the studs
of the sump housing.
(i) Attach the aft No. 6 bearing cover [3], insulation blanket [2], and bracket [11] to the sump
housing with eight nuts [1].
1) Torque the nuts to 55-70 pound-inches (6.2-7.9 newton meters).
(j) Attach the C-sump oil supply line [12] and loop clamp [8] to the bracket [11] with bolt [10]
and nut [9].
(k) Torque the nut [9] to 33-37 pound-inches (3.7-4.2 newton meters).

(4) Do the steps that follow to install the bracket [3], flame arrestor [2], insulation blanket [1],
carbon seal housing [13], oil slinger [11], and center vent tube [10] (Figure 401 or Figure 402 or
Figure 403).
(a) Install spanner nut, if removed, to the sump housing.
(b) Attach preformed packings [15] and [16], center vent tube [10], and oil slinger [11] to the
studs on the spanner nut.
(c) Apply anti-seize compound, D50067 [C02-001] to the threads and washer faces of the
seven nuts [12].
