D. Procedure
SUBTASK 72-63-01-434-010-G00
(1) Install the drive shaft removal tool, SPL-5650 on the aft end of the drive shaft.
NOTE: The aft end of drive shaft has 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) holes on each side of the drive shaft.
(a) Turn the handle on the tool clockwise to lock it in position.

(2) Put the drive shaft in position at the starter pad on the accessory gearbox.

(3) Slowly push the drive shaft in the forward direction until the forward splines of the drive shaft
are in alignment with the splines of the transfer gearbox.

(4) Put the rear splines of the drive shaft in alignment with the splines of the gearshaft housing in
the accessory gearbox.

(5) Push the drive shaft forward until the splines are completely engaged.

(6) Remove the tool from the drive shaft.
