Condition Maximum Serviceable Limit
Tears, cuts and delamination Not permitted. Remove the loose material. Clean the repair area with solvent.
Apply the EA 956 adhesive, A50033 [C01-106]. Push the edges of the loose
wire mesh into the adhesive. Cure for one hour at 175°-200°F (79°-93°C).
Nicks and scratches Permitted, if the wire mesh does not show broken strands.
Pieces that are gone Permitted, if there is no loose material. Repair the panel as follows: Clean the
repair area with solvent. Apply the EA 956 adhesive, A50033 [C01-106]. Push
the edges of the loose wire mesh into the adhesive. Cure for one hour at
175°-200°F (79°-93°C).

(3) Visually examine the acoustical liner segments on the forward fan case for the conditions that
follow:
Condition Maximum Serviceable Limit
Damage from ice hits Permitted, if the damage is not circumferential and is less than 0.50 inch
(12.70 mm) in depth. The panel must not be moved in the aft direction and
the face sheet must not be damaged or loose around the damaged panel.
Replace the panel. See the Continue-In-Operation Limits
(PAGEBLOCK 72-00-00/601).
Delamination on the aft edge Permitted, if the damage is less than 0.50 inch (12.70 mm) in depth. The
panel must not be moved in the aft direction. Replace the panel. See the
Continue-In-Operation Limits (PAGEBLOCK 72-00-00/601).

(4) Visually examine the outer acoustical liners on the aft fan case for the conditions that follow:
Condition Maximum Serviceable Limits
Crack Not permitted.
Nicks, and scratches Permitted, if the glass laminate does not have broken fibers.
Delamination Not permitted.
Pieces that are gone Not permitted.
Tears and cuts in the surface coat (not on
the leading edge)
Three in each segment are permitted, if they are in a forward to aft direction.
The total length of all the nicks and tears must be less than 3.0 inches (76.2
mm).
Circumferential defects are not permitted.
Tears and cuts along the leading edge of
the surface coat
Not permitted.
Dents in the liner facesheet Permitted if there are no tears or unbonded areas in the liner.

(5) If the damage is more than the maximum serviceable limits, refer to the Continue-In-Operation
Limits (PAGEBLOCK 72-00-00/601). If it is necessary, replace (PAGEBLOCK 72-33-05/401) or
repair (PAGEBLOCK 72-33-05/801) the acoustical liner segments.
