(i) Attach the doubler to the casing.
1) Temporarily hold the doubler with two or three bolts 1/8-inch (3 mm) in diameter.
NOTE: Apply the mold release wax, G50383 to the bolts before installation, thus
the bolt can be removed when the adhesive dries.
(j) Let the adhesive dry.
1) The cure time is 1-1/2 hours at 160°-180°F (71.1°-82.2°C).
2) Alternatively, the cure time is 1 hour at 175°-185°F (79.4°-85.0°C).
(k) Make the Chem-mill pockets flat with the adjacent surface of the casing aft of the rib.
1) Fill the pockets with layers of epoxy resin primer, A50065 [C03-005] and glass
fabric, G00031.
(l) Remove the unwanted adhesive.
(m) Remove the bolts that were temporarily installed.
(n) Apply a layer of the primer, C00057 to the doubler holes and the rivet holes.
(o) While the zinc chromate primer is still wet, install the rivets (P/N MS20426AD5).
NOTE: Install the rivets with the countersunk head on the casing inner diameter, thus the
acoustic panel can be installed without blockage.
