(4) Remove the fan rotor spinner (PAGEBLOCK 72-31-01/401).

(5) Remove the fan rotor blades (PAGEBLOCK 72-31-02/401).

(6) Prepare to repair the surface of the acoustical liner as follows:
CAUTION
DO NOT CUT FULLY THROUGH THE ACOUSTICAL LINER TO THE BACK
FACE MATERIAL. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BACK FACE
MATERIAL.
(a) Do the steps that follow to cut away the damaged material:
1) Use a hole saw that is 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch (3.2-6.4 mm) larger in diameter than the
damaged area.
2) Do not use a hole saw that has a diameter more than 2 inches (50.8 mm).
3) Cut out approximately half the thickness of the acoustical liner, or until you remove
all the damage.
(b) Remove the damaged material.
(c) Use filtered compressed air to remove the loose particles.
WARNING
DO NOT GET CLEANING SOLUTIONS IN YOUR MOUTH, EYES, OR ON
YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES. PUT ON A PROTECTIVE
SPLASH GOGGLE AND GLOVES WHEN YOU CLEAN. KEEP CLEANING
SOLUTIONS AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAMES, AND HEAT. CLEANING
SOLUTIONS ARE POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE, AND CAN CAUSE
INJURY TO PERSONS.
(d) Clean the repair area with the solvent, B00148.

(7) If it is necessary, prepare to repair the leading edge of the acoustical liner as follows:
CAUTION
DO NOT CUT FULLY THROUGH THE ACOUSTICAL LINER INTO THE
PERFORATED FACE SHEET. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE
PERFORATED FACE SHEET.
(a) Use a hole saw (or a hand grinder at 10,000 RPM) to cut away the damaged and loose
material.
1) Make sure that you cut the material sharply.
2) Cut away the damaged acoustical liner from the leading edge of the perforated face
sheet and the internal core material.
(b) Use filtered compressed air (and a vacuum if it is necessary) to remove all the loose
material.
