(4) Remove the fan stator fairing.
(a) If it is necessary, use heating element, SPL-6797 to apply heat at 150°-200°F (60°-93°C)
to the fairing (this makes the removal easier).

(5) Make identification marks on the 1st-stage stator vanes that you will remove.
(a) Make identification marks on the adjacent 1st-stage case with marker, STD-7049.

(6) Wind the tape around the outer platforms on the 1st-stage stator vanes to hold the assembly
together.

(7) Remove the bolts that hold the 1st-stage stator vanes.

(8) Remove the 1st-stage stator vane and the inner shroud as an assembly.
