D. Procedure
SUBTASK 72-31-00-424-004-G00
(1) Install the stage 1 fan rotor disk (Figure 401, Figure 403, Figure 404)
(a) Install the stage 1 fan rotor disk support adapter to the stage 1 fan rotor disk with
attachment bolts.
1) Attach at the fan rotor spinner bolt circle with nine bolts.
(b) Install the lift fixture, SPL-6914, to the Adapter, SPL-13244 and place the stage 1 fan
rotor disk with support adapter into the Support Stand, SPL-13245
1) Safety with two ball-lock pins.
2) Remove the lift fixture, SPL-6914.
(c) Install preformed packing lubricated with oil, D00552 [C02-019] in ring groove of stage 1
fan rotor disk, forward of aft inner mounting flange.

(2) Install aft dovetail seals to the stage 1 fan rotor disk as follows:
WARNING
DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS RELEASED BY THE FLUID OR ALLOW THE
FLUID TOUCH THE SKIN. MAKE SURE THE WORK AREA HAS A GOOD
FLOW OF AIR. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, DAMAGE
TO YOUR SKIN AND LUNGS CAN OCCUR.
(a) Clean surface with alcohol, B00679 [C04-035].
(b) Apply two thin coats of liquid adhesive, A50213 [C01-057 (Supersedes C01-080)].
(c) Install aft dovetail seals across the disk post. Install the side tabs into the blade slots to
get good fit.
(d) Wipe off any excessive liquid adhesive, A50213 [C01-057 (Supersedes C01-080)]
especially from stage 1 dovetail pressure faces. Remove any adhesive that squeezes out
of the joint.
(e) Cure at room temperature for 24 hours or 90 minutes at 200 degrees F(93.3 degrees C).
(f) Install bolts into the stage 2-4 spool with bolt heads aft. Coat threads with pure nickel
special compound, D50017 [C02-071].
(g) Install the stage 1 fan rotor disk on the stage 2-4 spool while you align matchmark
locations.
NOTE: You must align the disk to spool matchmarks as well as the disk to fan forward
shaft matchmarks. Be sure that matchmarked components are correctly aligned
to avoid unbalanced condition. Align the matchmark on spool with the serial
number location on the fan rotor disk.
1) Use three guide pins, SPL-6738, to help align the fan rotor disk with the forward fan
shaft.
