COMBUSTION SECTION - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1. General
A. Combustion of fuel takes place in combustor installed in compressor rear frame. Controlled release
of energy of combustion thru turbine nozzles drive the engine rotors for self-sustaining operation, fan
to develop airflow thru fan exhaust nozzle, plus a surplus of gases to eject thru engine exhaust
nozzle for additional thrust.
B. Combustion section is comprised of the compressor rear frame and combustion liner assembly.
