permitted if they are less than 0.030 inch (0.76 mm) in depth.
1) Scratches must be less than 0.50 inch (12.7 mm) in length.
2) The diameter of nicks and dents is not limited after the removal of high metal.
(j) Examine the dovetail seals.
1) It is permitted for the dovetail seals to be damaged or gone.
2) It is possible to repair the dovetail seals with RTV sealant so there will be less air

(k) Dovetail pressure faces must have a minimum of 50 percent of its area coated with
Moly-dag coating.
(l) Dovetails must have a minimum of 75 percent of its area coated with Cu-Ni-Indium
coating.
(m) Pits are permitted if they are less than 0.005 inch (0.13 mm) in depth.
1) There is no limit on the diameter of the pit.
2) There is no limit on the distance permitted between pits.
(n) No nicks, dents, or scratches are permitted on the hard-coat surface of the mid-span
shroud.
(o) For mid-span shroud areas other than the hard coat surfaces, nicks, dents, and scratches
are permitted if they are less than 0.010 inch (0.25 mm) in depth.
1) Dent diameters must be less than 0.50 inch (12.7 mm).
(p) No visible signs of wear that extend through the hard coat are permitted on the mid-span
shroud.
1) Ten percent of the surface can be flaked off.
2) No cracking or crazing is permitted.
(q) No nicks, dents, and scratches are permitted on the dovetail fillet radius.
(r) Fretting on the aft side of the shank is permitted if it is less than 0.003 inch (0.08 mm) in
depth.
(s) Fretting on the forward face of the dovetail is permitted if it is less than 0.003 inch (0.08
mm) in depth.
(t) Fretting on the side edges of the platform is permitted if it is less than 0.015 inch (0.38
mm) in depth.
(u) The limit for distortion of the leading edge in areas B, C and D (caused by foreign object
damage) is as follows:
NOTE: Use the spot fluorescent - penetrant inspection procedure
(TASK 70-11-06-232-010-G00).
1) Two areas can have distortion (displacement of the leading edge) of 0.50 inch (12.7
mm) from the initial contour if there are no sharp corners and the length of the
distortion is not less than six times the chord width.
