Required preparation steps
The following preparations must be made to configure the real-time
oscilloscope for usage by M8070A. Once this preparation is done, simply
power-on the oscilloscope and wait until it has completely started-up
before launching M8070A.
• Ensure that the oscilloscope is running the minimum required version
of Infiniium.
• Ensure the oscilloscope is having the options SDA and PM4 installed.
DEQ is optional, and will enable the use of the oscilloscope's
feed-forward equalizer in M8070A.
• Connect the oscilloscope to the computer that runs M8070A.
Supported remote control interfaces are USB and LAN. In case of a
LAN connection, only the HiSLIP protocol is supported.
• M8070A identifies the oscilloscopes to integrate by the existence of an
VISA alias for the oscilloscope's the VISA address. This needs to be
configured in the Keysight Connection Expert.
The VISA alias names that will mark an oscilloscope for integration into
M8070A are
• RTS_PROXY
• RTS_PROXY_1
• RTS_PROXY_2
• RTS_PROXY_3
• RTS_PROXY_4
