Movie mode
Movie capture in .MOV format (Motion-
JPEG compression) with image size (pixels)
of: 1920 x 1280; 1280 x 720; 640 x 424.
Buff er
Buff er capacity allows up to 100 frames
(JPEG fi ne, large) to be captured in a
continuous burst at 5fps, or approximately
15 RAW fi les.
Built-in fl ash
Pop-up fl ash (manually activated) with
Guide Number of 12 (m) or 39 (ft) at ISO
100 supports i-TTL balanced fi ll-fl ash for
DSLR (when matrix or center- weighted
metering is selected) and Standard i-TTL
ash for DSLR (when spot metering is
selected). Up to 10 fl ash-sync modes
(dependent on exposure mode in use):
Auto; auto + red-eye reduction; auto slow
sync; auto slow sync + red-eye reduction;
ll-fl ash; slow sync; rear-curtain sync;
rear-curtain slow sync; red-eye reduction;
slow sync + red-eye reduction. Flash
compensation from –3 to +1 Ev.
Custom functions
22 parameters and elements of the
camera’s operations can be customized
through the Custom Setting menu.
File formats
The D5300 supports NEF (RAW) (14-bit)
and JPEG (Fine/Normal/Basic) fi le formats
plus .MOV movie format.
Storage
Secure Digital (SD) card slot; accepts
SDHC and SDXC cards.
System back-up
Compatible with around 60 current
and many non-current Nikkor lenses
(functionality varies with older lenses);
SB-series fl ashguns; Wireless Remote
Control ML-L3 and WR-R10; ME-1 stereo
microphone; and many more Nikon
system accessories.
Connectivity
Onboard WiFi and GPS. Connectors for
external microphone, USB/AV, HDMI, and
Nikon remote cords/wireless controllers.

Supplied with Nikon View NX2
(incorporates Nikon Transfer 2);
compatible with Nikon Capture NX2 and
