Food
Recommended for detailed and vivid
photos of food, this mode is unique
among the D5300’s Scene modes in that
the built-in flash does not operate
automatically but can be activated
manually with the
button. However,
because food photos are naturally taken
at close range, the built-in flash often
produces unwanted shadows (see page
141); if the lighting is too dim for a
handheld shot, it is usually better to use
a separate flash or to employ a tripod.
This mode can be handy for shooting
other close-up subjects without flash.
JPEG processing is based on a Standard
Picture Control.

Note :
A growing number of restaurants
are now asking customers not to
photograph their food, with or
