CONNECTING TO A TV
You can playback photos and movie clips
through both standard TVs and HDMI
(High Definition Multimedia Interface)
sets. They require different cables, but
in other respects the process is essentially
the same. An AV cable is supplied with
the camera.
1) Check that the camera is set to the
correct mode in the Setup menu (NTSC
or PAL for standard TVs and VCRs, or
HDMI, see page 125).
2) Turn the camera off. Important:
always do this before connecting or
disconnecting the cable.
3) Open the cover on the left side of the
camera and insert the cable into the
appropriate slot (AV-out or HDMI).
Connect the other end to the TV.
4) Tune the TV to a video or HDMI
channel.
5) Turn the camera on and press the
playback button. Images remain visible on
the camera monitor as well as on the TV
and you navigate using the Multi-selector
in the usual way. The Slide show item in
the Playback menu (page 109) can be
used to automate playback.
