Night landscape
Night landscape mode allows long
exposures to be used and therefore a
tripod is strongly recommended. The built-
in flash remains off but an accessory flash
can be used. Images are processed to
reduce noise and preserve colors,
including the varied colors of artificial
light. When exposures exceed 1 sec., Long
Exposure noise reduction applies, which
means there is a delay before another shot
can be taken (see page 43). The maximum
exposure time is 30 sec.; if a longer time
is required, use Manual (M) mode and
exposure to Bulb (see page 62). JPEG
processing is based on a Standard
Picture Control.
