(M) Manual Mode
In M mode, you control both shutter speed
and aperture for maximum creative
flexibility. Manual mode is most
comfortably employed when shooting
without pressure of time or in fairly
constant light conditions, but many
experienced photographers use it all the
time to retain complete control.
Shutter speeds can be set between 30
sec. and 1/4000 sec., plus B or “bulb” (in
which the shutter remains open
indefinitely while the shutter release is
depressed). The range of apertures that
can be set is limited by the lens that’s fitted
to the camera.
1) Press the Mode Dial release and rotate
the dial to position M.
2) Frame the picture.
3) Half-press the release button to activate
focusing and exposure metering. The focus
point(s) will be displayed in the Viewfinder
