Beach/snow
Beach and snow scenes are notorious for
disappointing results—the subject is full of
bright tones and yet pictures all too often
turn out relatively dark. The D5300 aims to
counteract this, partly by applying exposure
compensation (see page 66) and partly
through image processing. The built-in
flash remains off, despite the fact that
strong lighting conditions often suggest
the use of fill-in flash (see page 139);
however, you can use an accessory
flashgun. JPEG processing is based on
a Landscape Picture Control.
BEACH/SNOW
Beach/snow mode preserves a light, bright feel.
