minimal even at smaller apertures. This makes
accurate focusing essential—and this begins
with precise placement of the focus point.

the D5300 is capable of focusing accurately

where Live View really shines. In

area AF or
Normal area AF (see page
92), the focus point can be set anywhere in
the frame. Live View, with its ability to
zoom in, also makes manual focusing
ultra-precise—and it’s impeccably
accurate. For years I was a “Live View
Luddite” but now it’s my first choice
for macro photography, especially with
static subjects.
