(2) LIN Slave Mode
(a) Header Reception
Figure 17-8 shows the operation of the LIN/UART module (LIN slave mode) in header reception. Table 17-10
provides processing in header reception.

Processing in Header Reception
Step Software processing LIN/UART module processing
(1)
ï‚·ï€ Sets a baud rate.
ï‚·ï€ Sets noise filter ON/OFF.
ï‚·ï€ Enables interrupt.
ï‚·ï€ Enables error detection.
ï‚·ï€ Sets frame configuration parameters.
ï‚·ï€ Changes the LIN/UART module to the LIN slave mode: LIN operation mode.
ï‚·ï€ Sets the FTS bit in the LTRCn register to 1 (header reception or wake-up
transmission/reception started).
Waits for the setting of the FTS bit in the
LTRCn register by software.
(2) Waits for an interrupt request. Waits for detection of a break field.
(3) Detects a break field (in the case of LIN
slave mode [fixed baud rate]; for break
field detection timing in the case of LIN
slave mode [auto baud rate], see (1) Auto
Baud Rate Correction Function).
(4)
ï‚·ï€ Detects a sync field (55H)
ï‚·ï€ Sets the baud rate generator (in the
case of LIN slave mode [auto baud
rate])
ï‚·ï€ Clears the no-response request bit
(LNRR bit).
(5)
ï‚·ï€ Receives an ID field.
ï‚·ï€ Checks an ID parity bit
(6) Sets a header reception complete flag.
(7)
ï‚·ï€ Checks the LSTn register and clears flags.
ï‚·ï€ Checks the LIDBn register and prepares a response.
ï‚·ï€ Completes a header reception process.
ï‚·ï€ Waits for a response request.
n = 0, 1
The LIN/UART module can receive a break field during transmission or reception of a frame. Here, a reception status
interrupt might be generated on the detection of a framing error, bit error, etc, at the position of the stop bit of the frame
preceding break field reception.
For information about error detection, refer to 17.4.6 Error Status.
