7. AS NEEDED MAINTENANCE
7.1 Clean Manual Rinse Mechanism
If the manual rinse mechanism becomes dirty or clogged, clean it as described below.
WARNING! The manual rinse mechanism should be considered potentially
biohazardous. Do not handle this unit without proper protective
equipment. Wear rubber gloves when cleaning. Wash your hands
with an antiseptic solution after completing the procedure.
(1) Turn OFF the power to the Main Unit. Wait at least 30 seconds to release the
pressure and vacuum accumulated in the pneumatic lines.
(2) Open the front cover and place the stop bar in position.
(3) Gently pull down the manual rinse cup to the lowest position until the rinse cup is
released from the manual aspiration pipette. See Figure 5-7-1.

(4) Pull the rinse cup forward to you (arrow ①) and disconnect the two tubes (arrows
➁ and ➂). See Figure 5-7-2.
