TEEJET 5000 OPERATORS MANUAL FERTILISER DISTRIBUTOR, RAUCH BETA/DELTA
4.109
SPEED SENSOR:
The TeeJet 5000 V.4 fertiliser distributor program gives the option of choosing
between 3 different speed sensors (Wheel tractor, Wheel spreader, Radar).
WHEEL TRACTOR:
Speed sensor fitted on the tractor. The sensor can be built into the tractor’s
gearbox or rear axle as standard factory fitted or be retrofit on a wheel or drive
shaft.
NOTE: Wheelslip will give inaccurate speed-readings.
WHEEL SPREADER:
Speed sensor fitted to trailed spreaders. This type of sensor will, as a rule, give a
very accurate speed-reading.
RADAR:
Signal from a radar, fitted on the tractor. This type of sensor gives a very accurate
speed reading on hard surfaces, but a high crop and reflecting surfaces (water)
gives an inaccurate reading.
Please refer to chapter 2 for speed sensor calibration.
FERTILISER CALIBRATION PROCEDURE:
The computer allows you to “save” up to 3 different calibrations, e.g. different
fertiliser types. Each calibration represents the individual test plus 3 “fixed” (but
user defined) application rates, i.e. 150 kg/ha, 200 kg/ha, 250 kg/ha.
A new calibration must be carried out each time:
1. The first time the spreader is used.
2. When the working width is changed.
3. Change of fertiliser type.
A new calibration should take place when:
1. If you suspect that the flow characteristics of the fertiliser have changed, i.e. a
new load.
2. Change of weather (temperature and moisture).
Even when the above factors have been taken into consideration, fertiliser
calibration should be checked at regular intervals.
