7 Setting up Patterns
The search pattern can be entered in binary/hex/symbol format,
depending on currently selected mode in pattern editor. You can continue
editing the pattern while this dialog box is still open.
Block Edit Operations
The Block Edit window provides an easy way to modify parts of the pattern
or the entire pattern at once. This can be used when setting up a new
pattern. It can also be used as an optional technique for editing existing
patterns.
Click on the Block Edit icon present on the toolbar. The Block Edit
sliding window will appear as shown in the following figure:
With the Block Edit window, you can use the drop-down list to specify
whether the block edit operation has to be performed on data or listed
attributes. You can also define the range that is to be modified. The
available options for the range are:
• All
Choose this option to edit the entire pattern.
• Range
Choose this option to select the range of bits, symbols or blocks
entered in the From and To fields.
The Block Edit window contains the following tabs:
•Fill
This tab allows filling the given range in the pattern with the specified
value. The available options for the Fill tab are:
