5.5 Operation Method for the Automatic Positioning
Unit (Optional Accessory)
5.5.1 Outline of the automatic positioning unit
Automatic positioning unit is an optional accessory. It is attached to the simple column
stand (optional accessory) for use. By using the automatic positioning unit, positioning of
the detector in the Z direction can be performed automatically. It is a convenient optional
accessory so that annoying positioning by repositoning the drive unit manually becomes
unnecessary.
TIP
• The automatic positioning unit can only be used for skidless measurement.
• The vertical drive range of the automatic positioning unit is 10 mm (0.393 in). If the
vertical drive of 10 mm (0.393 in) or more is performed, "limit error" occurs, disabling
measurement using the automatic positioning unit. Use the manual handle so that the
distance to the measurement surface is 10 mm (0.393 in) or below.
