7.1 Evaluating Conditions and Measurement
Conditions
Evaluating conditions and measurement conditions
Evaluating conditions are the conditions used for calculating measured data.
Measurement conditions are the conditions required throughout the measurement
process.
The following are the items set for each condition.
Condition Setup item
Evaluating
conditions
roughness standards, evaluation profiles, parameter, filter, cut-off
length, number of sampling lengths, pre-travel and post-travel
lengths, waveform deletion, profile compensation, and mean line
processing
Measurement
conditions
traversing speed, returning speed, measurement range,
over-range, arm correction, auto-start, auto-return, retraction,
X-axis operation, and resumption of calculation
Evaluating conditions (simultaneous evaluation of 2 profiles)
The SJ-410 allows for calculation using 2 different evaluating conditions. This is highly
useful for waveform analysis of different evaluation profiles.
The SJ-410 distinguishes the two as evaluating condition "A" and "B".

NOTE
• Setup items are the same for both evaluating condition A and B. In this manual,
evaluating condition A is shown as example. For information about switching the
evaluating condition A and B, refer to “ 7.6 Simultaneous Evaluation of 2 Profiles (A/B)
(page ).
7-58
• Same measurement conditions apply to both A and B.
