23.2.1 Evaluation profiles
■ Unfiltered profile P
This profile represents the cross-section obtained by intersecting the measuring surface
with a flat plane at a right angle. The profile is a representation of the actual profile
obtained by tracing the surface with a surface-roughness measuring device.
Unfiltered profile P
■ Roughness profile R
This profile is obtained by filtering the unfiltered profile with a long-wavelength cutoff filter
(high-pass filter) to remove long wavelength segments.
Roughness profile R
■ Filtered waviness profile W
A profile resulting from a primary profile that has its shorter wavelength components
(called "roughness components") and longer wavelength components (longer than
specified wavelength component) removed through filtering.
