16.2.3 Analyzing the step
You can specify the X range of the evaluation profile to calculate (using the method of
least squares) the reference line of the step.
Then, specify the step calculation position to display the step analysis result perpendicular
to the reference line.
There are 2 ways of specifying the X range and step calculation position: touching the
evaluation profile and entering the coordinate values.
IMPORTANT
• With step analysis, the screen is displayed with "Del.Wave" set to "OFF".
■ Specifying by touching the evaluation profile (Refer to 16.1 "■ Accessing the Analyze Waveform screen".)

NOTE
• When R-Motif or W-Motif is selected for a profile motif,
the step cannot be analyzed.

The rulers are displayed on the Analyze Step screen.
The blue one is Ruler 1, the red one is Ruler 2, and the white
one is step calculation position.
When the X-coordinate is specified for the first time, ruler 1 is
selected.
(blue) is displayed on the selected ruler.
