15.3 Adjustment using the Tilt Knob
■ Leveling
When the measuring surface of a workpiece is inclined, a wider measuring range is
occasionally required even if the workpiece requires high precision. Leveling is a function
to make the measuring surface parallel to the drive unit in order to achieve high-accuracy
measurement.
A digital window display (DAT Function) is provided for the electric indicator unit as a
standard function to display tilt adjustment value.
Following the guidance, perform preliminary measurement and calculate the angle. An
adjustment value is calculated based on the tilt angle and displayed as the number of
turns of the tilt knob of the height/tilt adjustment unit. This type of adjustment is easily
accomplished with the tilt knob.
