3.9 Power Supply
A built-in battery and an AC adapter are provided to supply power to the SJ-410.
If a built-in battery is used, the SJ-410 itself can turn the power on without connecting the
AC adapter to the SJ-410.
If an external power supply is available, connect the AC adapter to the SJ-410 and turn on
the power.
• Upon purchase the built-in battery switch is set to OFF. Be sure to set the built-in battery
switch to ON before using this instrument.
• If the AC adapter is connected while the built-in battery switch is set to OFF, the below
icon is displayed. Disconnect the AC adapter, set the built-in battery switch to ON, and
then reconnect the AC adapter.

• If the built-in battery power is almost consumed, the power supply cannot be turned on.
Charge the built-in battery to drive the SJ-410 again with the battery. However, notice
that the measurement conditions and results saved in the built-in memory will be
cleared.
• If the built-in battery switch is OFF, the measurement results and conditions will be
cleared. Keep the built-in battery switch ON unless the SJ-410 will not be used for a
long period of time (more than 2 to 3 weeks).
• The following items are saved in the SJ-410's internal memory even when the built-in
battery switch is OFF or when the internal battery is replaced.

• Never use other than the AC adapter supplied for this instrument. Connecting an AC
adapter other than the supplied one causes a recharging malfunction or failure.
• Only use the supplied AC adapter for this instrument. Using the adapter with equipment
other than the SJ-410 may cause damage to the adapter or equipment.
