16.2.4 Analyzing the step size
If the top (or bottom) of a peak (or valley) exceeds the peak height (or valley depth) level,
the mean height, maximum height, and minimum height from the slice level are calculated.
The calculation uses the data within the range excluding the deleted length portions.
If there is more than one peak (or valley) satisfying the condition, the peak (or valley) that
has the longest step-size parameter calculation range will be the peak (or valley) used for
calculation.
Definition of step-size parameters
Havg (mean height) = height obtained by ΣZi x (1/N)
[N = number of data in step-size parameters calculation range]
Hmax (maximum height) = maximum height in step-size parameters calculation
Hmin (minimum height) = minimum height in step-size parameters calculation
The Analyze Step Size screen can display convex step analysis (page 16-18) and
concave step analysis (page 16-24) results. Confirm the step size analysis description for
the target surface.
IMPORTANT
With step size analysis, the screen is displayed with "Del.Wave" set to "OFF".
