• Prior to attachment or detachment of a stylus and a nosepiece, be sure to detach the
detector from the connector unit.
• For information about detaching the detector, refer to "3.3 Attaching and Detaching the
Drive Unit and Detector” (page 3-6).
■ Attaching the stylus and skidless nosepiece
1 Plug the stylus in the detector main unit. If it is clicked, the stylus is firmly fixed with
spring action.
2 Using an Allen wrench (nominal 1.5), mount the skid-attached nosepiece on the
detector main unit with a nose set screw (socket-head screw). At this time, while
firmly pushing the nosepiece by your fingers onto the detector main unit, tighten the
nose set screw (socket-head screw).
■ Detaching the stylus and nosepiece
1 If the detector is attached to the connector unit, detach it from the connector unit.
2 Unfasten the nose set screw (socket-head screw) on the detector, then pull out the
skidless nosepiece upward.
3 Unplug the stylus from the detector main unit.
• The skidless nosepiece must be attached when a measurement is performed.
• If the skidless nosepiece is attached with the power of display unit turned on,
measurement cannot be performed correctly. Before attaching the skidless nosepiece,
turn the display unit power off and detach the detector from the connector unit.
