3.4 Mounting and Dismounting the Height/Tilt
Adjustment Unit
Before performing measurement, mount the height/tilt adjustment unit on the
drive/detector unit.
However, skid-attached measurement can be performed without mounting the height/tilt
adjustment unit, if the SJ-410 installation surface and a workpiece surface are coplanar.
■ Mounting the height/tilt adjustment unit
1 Pass the connecting cable from the rear of the drive/detector unit through the notch
on the rear of the height/tilt adjustment unit.
2 Cover the height/tilt adjustment unit over the drive/detector unit.
3 While holding the drive/detector unit slightly upward, mate the two tapping holes on
the drive/detector unit with the two mounting hex-socket head screws (M4) on the
height/tilt adjustment unit on both rear sides.
4 Screw two hex-socket head screws into the two holes with an Allen wrench (nominal
3) to secure the both units.
■ Dismounting the height/tilt adjustment unit
1 Unscrew the two socket-head screws on the rear of the height/tilt adjustment unit
with an Allen wrench (nominal 3).
2 Gently lift up the height/tilt adjustment unit to dismount it from the drive/detector unit.
At this time, dismount the height/tilt adjustment unit so as to escape the connecting
cable on the drive/detector unit from the notch on the height/tilt adjustment unit.
