7.6 Simultaneous Evaluation of 2 Profiles (A/B)
■ Example of simultaneous evaluation of 2 profiles
Evaluating two different profiles with same roughness standard usually requires changes
to condition settings and remeasurement/recalculation. Using simultaneous evaluation
function, however, remeasurement/recalculation is not necessary. Calculation results of
both profiles will be kept. The profiles can be compared to one another.
The example shown here, profile P and R are compared.
The profile P (Primary profile P), is a representation of the actual profile obtained by
tracing the measured surface. The profile R (Roughness profile R), which is obtained by
filtering the profile P, has different representation even they result from the same
conditions.
Unfiltered profile P
Roughness profile R
Calculating these 2 profiles simultaneously and maintaining 2 evaluating profiles allow for
comparison of coordinate difference of the profiles.
IMPORTANT
• Measurement may not be compatible with the standards because λs is limited
depending on the setting of the condition A.
