5.4.3 Switching the range
The SJ-410 can perform measurement in one of the following measuring ranges: 8, 80,
800, or AUTO.
The measurement resolution for each range is as shown in the following table.

When the measurement range is set to AUTO, the measurement resolution varies
depending on the amount of displacement in the measurement range.
To perform a minute roughness evaluation, you can switch to further sensitive (narrow)
range for measurement.
TIP
• To perform skidless measurement with further sensitive (narrow) range, you must adjust
the workpiece in the horizontal direction correctly. For information about adjustment in
the horizontal direction, refer to "4.2.4 Perform leveling" (page 4-4).
