EVM Optimization Method
NOTE
“Optimize EVM” is an immediate action, before the action, the EVM Optimization
Method should be selected.
There are 2 methods for EVM Optimization
Normal method is to adjust hardware settings to minimize EVM by some
algorithm which is dependent on the measured peak power of input signal
Iterative method is to adjust hardware settings to minimize EVM by some
algorithm which is to iterate measured EVM of input signal
Generally, Iterative method is slower than Normal method, but it can always get
better EVM.
Remote Command
[:SENSe]:EVM:OPTMethod NORMal | ITERative
[:SENSe]:EVM:OPTMethod?
Example
:EVM:OPTM NORM
:EVM:OPTM?
Preset
Normal
State Saved Saved in instrument state
Range
NORMal|ITERative
Average Number for Iterative EVM Optimization (Remote Command Only)
In iterative EVM Optimization, the algorithm stability is very dependent on the
variation of measured EVM.
Averaging EVM is used in the algorithm to reduce the variation of EVM reading.
More averaging will get more stable EVM reading but longer measurement time.
This SCPI only parameter can adjust averaging number to balance the stability and
measurement time.
Remote
Command
[:SENSe]:EVM:OPTMethod:AVERage:COUNt <integer>
