7. MODIFICATION OF THE MEASUREMENT CONDITIONS AND EVALUATING CONDITIONS
Circular compensation
Equation:
rz
x

=+
“r” and the center of the circle are calculated using the method of least squares.
Circle
Conic profile (automatic conic compensation)
Equation:

=+
z

rx
(Conic profiles may be ellipses, parabolas, or hyperbolas, depending on the values of “k”
and “r”.)
“k”, “r”, the amount of parallel displacement, and the amount of rotational displacement are
calculated using the method of least squares.
If this option is selected, the compensation is equivalent to that using the profiles having
the smallest total residuals among the profiles described above: ellipses, parabolas, and
hyperbolas.
NOTE
Depending on the measured profiles, approximation compensation may fail, sometimes
causing error displays. If an error is displayed, change the conditions or set the
compensation OFF, and make measurements again
Entire tilt compensation
Equation:
baxz +=
“a” and “b” are calculated using the method of least squares.
