■ Features of the SJ-410
• Excellent portability and easy to carry around
The SJ-410 has a lightweight (3.0 kg) design, the size similar to a notebook PC, and
excellent in portability. Using the attache case enables you to carry all the units more
easily. The built-in battery makes it easy to perform roughness measurement on the
sites where there may be no AC power supply, such as the shop floor.
NOTE
• No power is drawn from the battery while the instrument is supplied power via the AC
adapter. For more information about the built-in battery, refer to "3.9.1 Recharging the
built-in battery" (page 3-25).
• Wide measurement range and various roughness parameters.
Has a maximum range of 800 μm (±400 μm), and can display various roughness
parameters about the surface's roughness.
• Evaluation profiles displayed by touch panel, easy operation
In the SJ-410, you can view evaluation profiles on the large screen. In addition, you
can set up conditions for roughness measurement by the touch panel. On the touch
panel, menus are displayed according to the procedure, realizing comprehensible and
easy operation.
• Measuring function with two types of evaluating conditions
In the SJ-410, you can set two types of evaluating conditions for simultaneous
operation.
• Immediate printout function by built-in printer
In the SJ-410, the measurement conditions, calculation results, evaluation profiles,
graphs, and histogram can be printed by using the built-in printer.
• Statistical processing function
Using the statistical processing function provided to the SJ-410, you can create
histogram.
• Measurement conditions and results saving function
The SJ-410 can save measurement conditions in the main unit up to 10 cases of
measurements. Using an SD card, the SJ-410 can save the measurement conditions
up to 500 cases and the measurement results up to 10,000 cases of measurements.
The SJ-410 also can load the saved data to display on the touch panel and print the
data.
• Waviness and step measurement by skidless measurement
The SJ-410 can measure a long-wavelength waviness, step, and other minute
textures through the measurement using a skidless nosepiece (skidless
measurement).
• Measurement can be started from an arbitrary position.
The SJ-410 can start measurement from an arbitrary position within the driving range.
