1. SJ-410 OVERVIEW
• Compatible with various roughness standards
The SJ-410 outputs measurement results conforming to a variety of roughness
standards, including JIS (JIS-B-0601-2001, JIS-B-0601-1994, JIS-B-0601-1982),
VDA, ISO-1997, and ANSI.
■ Skidless measurement and skid-attached measurement
The SJ-410 can perform skidless measurement and measurement using a nosepiece with
a skid (skid-attached measurement). The detector states are as shown below.

As shown in the figure above, in skidless measurement a minute texture on the workpiece
surface is reflected in the measured profile. Therefore, a waviness and step can be
measured in skidless measurement.
On the other hand, in skid-attached measurement vertical displacements of the stylus tip
with reference to the skid are measured. Therefore, this measurement makes the leveling
of a measuring surface great easy.
