Configure the master R&S SMBV100B
Configure the slave R&S SMBV100B
Compensate signal mis-alignment:
Connect the instruments and distribute the synchronization signal and the refer-
ence frequency
1. With the default connector settings of the R&S SMBV100B, connect the instru-
ments in one of the following ways:
a) In a daisy chain:

* = I/Q, LAN etc. connections are not shown
Master = Instrument acting as synchronization and trigger signal source
Salve = One or more cascaded instruments, receiving (and forwarding) the synchroniza-
tion and trigger signal
Ref Out, Ref In = Reference frequency connectors
User x = Synchronization and trigger signal connectors
RF = Signal output
Connect User 5 connector of the master R&S SMBV100B to User 4 con-
nector of the first slave.
Connect User 5 connector of the first slave to the User 4 connector of the
second slave, etc.
b) In a star configuration:

Connect User 5 connector of the master R&S SMBV100B to User 4 con-
nector of the slaves
Route the synchronization signal Sync Out accordingly.
