2.3.1 Generating an Unmodulated Carrier
We start out by generating a simple unmodulated signal. The R&S SMBV100B in this
example can be a base unit in its minimal configuration (i.e. with installed
R&S SMBVB-B103).
1. On the R&S SMBV100B front panel, press the Preset key to start out in a defined
instrument configuration.
2. Set the frequency:
a) On the "Status Bar", tap the "Frequency" field.
b) On the on-screen keypad, enter 1.955 and press the "GHz" key.
The on-screen keypad closes and the frequency value is displayed.
3. On the "Status Bar", tap the "Level" field and enter the level in the same way.
4. Select "Block Diagram > RF Block > On" to enable the output of the generated
unmodulated signal.
