you would like to distribute the files to several instruments. If the R&S SMBV100Bs are
connected to a LAN, you can create a shortcut on the instruments to the file server.
To access the file server
1. On each R&S SMBV100B, map the required directory of the file server to the
instrument.
Perform the steps described in Chapter 9.8.4, "How to Map a Network Folder",
on page 495.
2. On each R&S SMBV100B, use the same alias name for the directory of the file
server, i.e. enter the same "Local Folder" (in this example Setups).
On any of the R&S SMBV100B, you access the file server directly from the "File
Manager" and under the same name, e.g. /shares/Setups.
An extra advantage in remote control is that the same application program would
control the instruments.
For example, use the remote control command MMEMory:CDIRectory
"/shares/Setups" to set the default directory for mass storage.

The save/recall function enables you to save current settings in a file. To document the
most important settings for a performed signal generation, you can also save a hard-
copy of the current display.
