9 Connect a pressurized nitrogen cylinder or install a nitrogen can into the
Headspace instrument.
10 If using the HSS in portable mode, disconnect the power supply and place a
battery in the HSS. Open the front door of the HSS and insert a charged battery
into the rectangular slot below the round carrier gas slot until it is engaged.
Make sure when inserting the battery that the lettering is right-side up to insure
proper orientation of the battery. When inserted correctly, it will ‘click’ into place
and remain snug. See Figure 2-23.
The HSS is not sealed against moisture, debris, or
contamination with the front door open.
