2.7 Service Module
The Service Module is used to create a vacuum in the HAPSITE. It cannot be used
in a portable application.
For additional information on the Service Module, refer to Chapter 14, Service
Module.
2.7.1 Setting Up the Service Module
Required Components
 RS-232 communication cable.
 Power cord for Service Module.
 PC with Smart IQ software installed.
When stored, the Service Module should have an aluminum plug placed on the top
opening. This plug is used to keep the Service Module free of moisture and debris
during storage.
NOTE: The aluminum storage plug is supplied with the Service Module. The
Service Module is shipped under vacuum from the factory with this plug in
place. See Figure 2-24.
