TIP
If more precise leveling is required, repeat steps 2 to 7.
• When
[Zero Adj.] on the Drive Unit Operation screen is touched, the stylus
position at that time becomes the zero point for measurement. For more information,
refer to "
4.2.3 Perform zero adjustment" (page 4-3).
Many other optional accessories that can be used for tilt adjustment with the DAT
function are available. For information about using those accessories, refer to "15
PRELIMINARY MEASUREMENT (AUXILIARY FUNCTIONS)" (page 15-1).
IMPORTANT
To avoid damage of the detector, keep the stylus away from a workpiece while leveling.
If leveling is performed while the stylus is touching a workpiece, the situation below will
result. It may be occur while lowering (turning the tilt knob on the height/tilt adjustment
unit clockwise) the drive/detector unit. At this time, it beeps. If it beeps, abort leveling to
avoid detector damage. Then restart from alignment of the workpiece. If no alignment is
performed, the detector may be damaged due to the excessive force applied.
Visual adjustment (Adjusting using the level meter)
The level meter displayed in the Home screen on the touch panel indicates the current
stylus position. While watching this level meter, adjust the height/tilt adjustment unit (tilt of
the drive/detector unit).
When the level meter is pointing at the center, the stylus is positioned near the zero point.
