Pattern
Defines the control block or data block pattern in binary or hex format.
The bit pattern editor helps you to enter the pattern, see Chapter 13.1.7, "Bit pattern
editor", on page 519.

6.10.3 Configuring the serial pattern trigger
For details on the high-speed serial pattern trigger settings, see Chapter 6.10.2, "High-
speed serial pattern settings", on page 256.
Setting up basic serial pattern settings
1. Select "Menu" > "Trigger" > "Setup".
2. Select the channel for the "Source".
3. Select "Type" > "Serial pattern".
4. Set the clock signal:
a) Enable CDR for embedded clock signals.
b) Set the "UI offset".
c) Set the "Nom. bit rate".
d) Set the "Data level".
5. Open the "Pattern definition" dialog.
6. Select "Pattern type".
7. Set the pattern type specific settings:
● For dual bit serial pattern trigger, see "Setting up a dual bit serial pattern trig-
ger" on page 267.
● For 8B/10B serial pattern trigger, see "Setting up a 8B/10B serial pattern trig-
ger" on page 268.
Setting up a dual bit serial pattern trigger
1. Set the basic serial pattern settings. See "Setting up basic serial pattern settings"
on page 267.
2. Select "Pattern type" > "Dual bit pattern".
3. Set the "Bit pattern length A/B".
4. Set the "Bit pattern A/B".
