5.4 Exposure with CR cassette

Read the bar code of the CR cassette
with a bar code reader.
• The read bar code number is displayed in the
Exam. Tags display area, and focus moves to
the next Exam. Tag. This completes the prepa-
rations for reading by REGIUS.

Perform exposure using the registered CR
cassette.
• Configure the X-ray device settings and check
the exposure setting before making an expo-
sure.
Press the exposure switch

Read CR cassette.
• The image read from the registered CR cassette
will be displayed.
• When exposing several body parts, repeat from
step 1.

• For bar code registration, the optional bar code reader
is required.
• The bar code reader is a CDRH class II laser product.
Operate it with caution on the following points.
– Do not look into the front reading window. There is
a danger that the laser will damage the eyes.
– Do not discharge the laser in the direction of
people's eyes. There is a danger that the laser will
damage the eyes.
• Sometimes the bar code cannot be read correctly
when the laser strikes it perpendicularly. If it cannot be
read correctly, tilt the bar code reader slightly and read
again.

• X-ray exposure information is acquired automatically
when linked to the X-ray device.
• When reading from the bar code of the CR cassette
that does not match the exposure conditions, a conr-
mation screen is displayed which says, "This cassette
is for general exposure. Check the Exam. Tag." Press
[OK], and register the correct CR cassette.
• CR cassettes with the same bar code cannot be reg-
istered consecutively. When there are several expo-
sures with CR cassettes with the same bar code, re-
register after reading the image with the REGIUS for
each exposure.
• By continually carrying out steps 1 and 2, the CR cas-
settes can be continually registered.
• Exposure with bar code registration is suitable when
this device is connected with multiple REGIUS series
devices.
• Congure irradiation elds of at least 5x5 cm for the
following areas.
Infant hip/(C) Infant hip/Front view of lumbar/Side view
of lumbar/Radial position of lumbar/Front view of head/
Towne view of the head/Turkey saddle/Cheekbone
axis/Temporomandibular joint/Front view of jawbone/
Side view of jawbone/Front view of the child chest/
Side view of the child chest/Progress observation of
child chest/Front view of infant chest/Infant chest and
abdomen/(C) Side view of infant chest and abdomen/
Progress observation of infant chest and abdomen/
Newborn chest/(C) Newborn chest/Newborn skeleton/

Ribs/Side view of sternum/Radial position of sternum/

Congure settings for other areas so that at least one
edge of the irradiation eld is at least 15 cm.
If these conditions are not satised, irradiation elds
sometimes cannot be detected, which would require
reimaging.
