2.6 GEAR PUMP
A. PUMP CHARACTERISTICS
Power steering hydraulic pumps have superior volume
efficiency and mechanical efficiency and extracts power
from the engine right cam shaft gear.

C. OPERATION
The hydraulic pump has two meshing gears (2) whose
teeth run close to the housing (3).
One gear is a drive gear which drives the driven gear.
When the drive gear is driven in the direction of the
arrow by the fuel camshaft, the gear traps oil between
the gear teeth and the casing.
The higher the engine speed, the more the pump
discharges.
