5. Reinstall cover (C) by positioning the inboard lip
into the auger tube and rotating back to engage the
rear support.
6. Replace and tighten bolts (A) and (B).

Checking Oil Level in Header Drive Gearbox
DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected start-up of m achine, always stop engine and remove key
from ignition before leaving operator’s seat for any reason.
Check oil level every 100 hours as follows:
1. Set cutterbar to working position. Shutdown combine and remove key from ignition.
2. Remove plug (A). Oil level should be to bottom of hole.
3. Install plug (A).
4. Add o il if required. Refer to Adding Oil to Header Drive
Gearbox, page 272.
