Imaging Unit
The Imaging Unit is a customer replaceable item that carries out the charging,
development, transfer, and cleaning steps in the print process (see “Printing
Process” on page 2-3).
The Imaging Unit consists of the following items:
• Developers
Each of the four Developers includes the Augers that distribute the toner and
the Magnet Roller that applies toner to the Drum to develop the latent image.
•Drums
Each drum is given a latent image to which toner is applied by the Developer.
The resulting toner image is transferred to the paper.
•CRUM
Information specific to the Developer/Imaging unit is stored in the CRUM.
