9. Click to add a new test.
10. Typea Label for the test.
11. Click to toggle on IPv6 if the test should apply to both IPv6 rather than IPv4.
12. Select the Test type.
Available test types:
n
Ping test: Uses ICMPto determine connectivity.
If Ping test isselected, complete the following:
l
Ping target: The type of target for the ping, one of:
o
Hostname or IP addressof an external server.
o
Ping host: hostname or IPaddress of the server.
o
The Interface gateway. If Interface gateway isselected, an initial traceroute is
sent to the hostname or IPaddress configured in the SureLink advanced settings,
and then the first hop in that route is used for the ping test.
o
The Interface address.
o
The Interface DNSserver.
l
Ping payload size: Thenumber of bytesto send as part of the ping payload.
n
DNS test: Performsa DNSquery to the named DNSserver.
If DNS test isselected, complete the following:
l
DNS server: The IPaddressof the DNSserver.
n
HTTP test: UsesHTTP(s) GETrequests to determine connectivity to the configured web
server.
If HTTP test is selected, complete the following:
l
Web server: The URL of the web server.
n
Test DNS servers configured for thisinterface: Tests communication with DNS
servers that are either provided by DHCP, or statically configured for this interface.
n
Test the interface status: Tests the current statusof the interface. Thetest fails if the
interface is down. Failing thistest infers that all other testsfail.
If Test the interface statusis selected, complete the following:
l
Down time: The amount of time that the interfaceis down before the test can be
considered to havefailed.
Allowed values are any number of weeks, days, hours, minutes, or seconds, and
take the format number{w|d|h|m|s}.
For example, to set Down time to ten minutes, enter 10m or 600s.
