Network Time Protocol
Network Time Protocol (NTP) enables devicesconnected on local and worldwide networksto
synchronize their internal software and hardware clocksto the same time source. TheIX20 device can
be configured as an NTP server, allowing downstream hosts that are attached to the device'sLocal
Area Networksto synchronize with the device.
When the device isconfigured as an NTPserver, it also functionsas an NTPclient. The NTPclient will
be consistently synchronized with one or more upstream NTPservers, which meansthat NTPpackets
are transferred every few seconds. Aminimum of oneupstream NTPserver is required. Additional NTP
